November 30, 2010 Process Log

Today in tech-ed class, Lillie, Greta, and I tried to take pictures for our stop motion animation video. We had a pretty bad day because we had to wait for about five minutes to get our camera, then Shukri accidentally signed off on our camera so we had to wait for her, then our camera died. I went down to the library to get new batteries and that took a while. After that, our camera would have a powerful flash, so we tried to turn off the flash, but didn't know how. We barley got any pictures taken. The pictures were either blurry or too bright. Next class, I think we should try and turn off the camera flash and maybe zoom out a little bit, so it won't be blurry. At the end of the day, we started to get things straightened and it ended up a little better then I though it would. One more problem is that our tripod  you become loose or crooked. I hope next time it will go better and that we can get more shots taken.

November 23, 2010 Process Log

Today, Molly, Lillie, Greta, and I filmed about maybe 40 pictures. We would have been able to film more, but we had a shorter class and one of our characters kept falling down. We taped its feet to the ground so it would stand up and it worked. Some of the pictures either turned out blurry or shiny, so we had to erase them and take a different one. Also, we had some trouble getting the camera to focus, so we either zoomed out or just took the picture and it turned out better. Next class, I am going to try and make sure all the props are stable before we start shooting. I am also going to make sure the camera is focused and that it is not crooked. I am very positive that our video will turn out very good and cute.

November 19, 2010 Process Log

Today in tech ed class, Molly, Greta, and I all helped take pictures for our stop motion animation. We had a problem standing up our wire character, so we taped her feet to the box. Also, we made some final touches to props. We helped Lillie create some of our bibliography. During shooting, we had a problem with a character being shiny so we zoomed the camera out a little bit. The alphabet border kept falling down so we taped the back of it to the box. I am excited to finish our video. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we had to take pictures for our teacher.

November. 15, 2010 Process Log

Today, Molly, Greta, and I finished our prop box. I set up where each character should go and to make each prop stable and be able to stand up without falling. I helped Molly hot glue some objects to desk and I glued a small poster to the classroom wall. I thought of a problem that some of the characters are shiny and might have a reflection, so Greta and I tried to cover them up with felt clothes. It didn't quite work as well as we hoped it would, so we gave up. On Wednesday, we are going to start filming. Maybe I can make some characters at home that aren't as shiny. Okay wish our group luck on the filming.

11.11.2010

Today in tech class, I watched a video on Learning.com about audio and video. We had to do challenges on that video, like a mini lesson. We created a design brief, but Molly wrote it as we told her what to write. Okay I'm running out of time so bye.

11.09.2010 Process Log

Today in tech, I helped Molly make the box scene. I hot glued the Activ Board, the clock, and the alphabet border. We had a problem with space because there was not enough room for the Activ Board, so I made room by putting the clock above the alphabet and that created more room. One problem was that the colored paper for the walls and floors were too big, so I cut them. Then, since the paper had to be folded along a crease in the box, the paper would not stick to the box. I had to hot glue it. Next time, I will remember this whenever I have to create another project. Mrs. Wegsheid helped me hot glue the items to the box because the box would not stay open. We also had a problem because I forgot to make a table, so I made a table out of Greta's box.

11.05.2010 Process Log

Today I worked on the background sketch and Molly worked on the wire character. Greta worked on the storyboard and Lillie watched videos. Some changes I had to make on the background sketch were changed desks to one table and add posters because there was some empty space. Some problems Molly and I had were that the character is not done yet and its hair would not stick to its head. Also, Greta did not finish the storyboard so we are all going to stay after class to try and finish our work. We had to use wire and it was hard to cut it with scissors. I think instead of trying to glue things, we can hot glue it or tape. I hope that soon we can get this project done and it turns out great.

11.03.2010

During tech, Molly and I made a wire character sketch. Greta worked on a story board and Lillie drew the background sketch for our box. Molly and I decided that our character is going to wear a dress and be made of wire. Her name is Susie and she is going to have google eyes. I am going to make an alphabet banner for our classroom set. Since Lillie made the background, there is going to be desks, an Activ Board, a clock, an a teachers desk. I think Molly is going to bring felt and other materials for our box. Greta brought some material to make extra characters and Lillie forgot to bring her supplies.

11.01.2010

We finally picked our groups for tech class today. I am with Molly, Greta and Lillie. Our ATL is "working effectively in groups." I am supposed to create an Active Board and a clock. Molly asked me to go to Michael's and go on a shopping spree for crafts. Lillie is going to ask her little sisters to borrow some doll things for our project. Molly is going bring felt and construction paper for the background. I think Greta is bringing sticky letters for maybe an alphabet for the classroom. I am really excited because I think our scene is going to look really good. It is going to be a classroom setting. For our stop motion animation, it is going to be a couple of students working in group off-task. I'm also happy because I get to go on a shopping spree. I hope our project will be finished before seventh grade is off to Camp Allen. Wish us luck. :)
